Poddy Home is © 2008, 2009 by Virtual Worlds / Michael Pfeiffer. It is distributed in the hope that it will be useful, but WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY; without even the implied warranty of MERCHANTABILITY or FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. You use this software on your own risk.

Currently Poddy Home is dual-licensed. The overall application is Freeware and can be used for free as long as no profit is made with it. Parts of the software are currently released as open souce using the terms of the GPLv2.
It is planned to release the whole application under the Terms of the GPL but at the moment there is no decision made for it. Nevertheless these parts of the sources that already are available as open source give you the possibility to adapt the software for other operating systems than Linux.

There are several (sometimes strange) copyright laws in different countries that also may be related to copying data somebody has already paid for. After these laws may be interesting for people using Poddy Home, the following is important:
Poddy Home contains absolutley no code or functionality that duplicates or copies data carriers such as CDs or DVDs, therefore these copyright laws should not be valid for this application. To offer its storage functionality Poddy Home uses functionalitites of the underlying operating system only, Poddy Home does not contain any functionality that could be used for such purposes. So as long as your operating system and its functionalities are legal the use of Poddy Home should be legal too.

Please note: This is only a technical statement about the functionality of Poddy Home, it in no way is a legal advice. To get a legal advice please contact a local lawyer.

Please note also: If you think you could sue me because of the - in your opinion - illegal functionalities of Poddy Home, so feel free to do that. Me or my lawyer will have very much fun in proving the above statement on court.
